The highway north between Mount Molloy and Cooktown is Savannah Country. Unfenced, and seamlessly blurred by heat and dust, this landscape has no edges. After rain the creeks run, the grass grows, bright for a minute then crumples, fueling fires and blackening the landscape. So much beauty in such a harsh landscape.
